This online Zoom discussion group to help participants maneuver more gently through the emotional and spiritual challenges of this pandemic. Articles about coping with fear and stress can befound in both printed and online forms, yet peer support remains one of the best ways of handling crises as we hear from one another in a more personal setting how we’re doing, if our reactions are normal, where to get additional assistance, how we’ve been able to help others, etc.

Sister Edna Michel, director of St. Francis Spirituality Center, will facilitate these conversations each Wednesday. While not a professional counselor, she has had nearly 40 years’ experience listening to people’s life stories and helping them walk through tough times.

If interested, register with Sr. Edna Michel at 567.230.0061 or Jenifer at 419-443-1485 or peace@franciscanretreats.org. The Encyclical Letter Fratelli Tutti of the Holy Father Francis on Fraternity and Social Friendship – A Virtual Lenten Book Discussion by Zoom offered by St. Francis Spirituality Center (SFSC) on Mondays (7:00-8:15pm) February 15, 22; March 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; April 5.

In Pope Francis’s thinking, care for each other particularly the poorest and most marginalized in society cannot be divided from care for creation. “In this, his second social encyclical, which is relevant and to the point, Pope Francis sets out his vision for a post-COVID world. The pandemic offers us a unique opportunity for conversion. If anything, we have seen how interdependent we are on every level political, social, and economic. We have no choice but to live, truly live as brothers and sisters, with humanity as well as with our ravaged planet Earth.”

Registration:  Contact Jenifer at 419.443.1485 or email peace@franciscanretreats.org. Deadline for ordering books or study guides through SFSC is January 18.
