Saturday, November 2 (6:30 – 8:00pm) FREE Non-Scary Family Night Hike at the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center, 194 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin
Includes hay wagon ride to the woods, hike with activity stations, s’mores, and hot cocoa. Donations are welcome.
Wednesday, November 6 (7:00pm) History of the First Nations People of Northwest Ohio with Taylor Moyer at Heidelberg University, Wickham Hall & Campus Center, 44 Greenfield St., Tiffin.
Wednesday, November 13 (7:00pm) Traditional Culture and Arts of the American Indians of the Great Lakes Region with Taylor Moyer at St. Francis Convent Chapel, 200 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin.
In recognition of Native American Heritage month, Taylor Moyer, an American Indian, historian and scholar, will be highlighting has been invited to highlight and celebrate the diversity of backgrounds.
Taylor Moyer has served on the Fallen Timbers Battlefield Commission, is a member of the Black Swamp Intertribal Foundation, and provides historic talks throughout lower Michigan, eastern Indiana, and Ohio.
Saturday, November 23 (9:00am-1:00pm) Oasis Day Mini Retreat “Turbulent Waters… Navigating Safely Through a Changing World” at St. Francis Spirituality Center, 200 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin.
How do we stay centered when everything around us is changing at a rapid pace? Doors open at 8:30am. Noon main meal optional. Presenter: Sr. Edna Michel. Cost: $15 for Retreat Only. $30 Retreat + Noon Meal. Register by November 15 at 419-443-1485 or peace@franciscanretreats.org
Wednesday, November 27 (8:00am – 3:00pm) Science Days for Kids Ages 6-10 Years Old at Franciscan Earth Literacy Center, 194 St Francis Ave, Tiffin
Theme: The Science of Thanksgiving Dinner: Explore the different foods making up the Thanksgiving feast, from biological, historical, and cultural perspective. Light snacks provided.
Cost: $60 per child. Scholarships are available. Drop-off Time: 7:30-7:50am. To register: call 419-448-7485 or email hwatson@felctiffin.org at least one week prior to each Science Day.
Sunday, December 1st – Live Nativity on the St. Francis Campus, 200 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin. (Drive Thru: 4:00-5:15pm, Walk Thru: 6:30-8:00pm)
Donations of NEW hats, scarves, gloves and socks will be collected and distributed to those in need throughout the area. Wear comfortable shoes and warm clothes. Please park behind St. Francis Home to meet your guide.
Sunday, December 8 (1:00-3:00pm) cookies with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center, 194 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin.
Meet Santa, Mrs. Claus and the animals living at FELC. This event is FREE and open to the public. All ages are welcome to tour the facility. FREE pictures with Santa are available.
