Science Days for Kids ages 6-10 years old at the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center, 194 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin. 

 

Wednesday, November 23 – Theme: Survival Skills. Do you have what it takes to survive in the Ohio wilderness? Join us in learning essential skills like fire and shelter building, reading a map, campfire cooking, and how to protect ourselves from the elements.

 

Thursday, December 22 – Theme: Amazing Animals. Meet our amazing animal ambassadors as they teach you how animals have adapted to survive in Ohio. We’ll look at the bones, teeth, and fur of various animals to learn about their amazing adaptations, you’ll even get to interact with some of the facilities permanent pet residents!

Wednesday, December 28Theme: Jurassic Giants and Gemstones. We will excavate incredible treasures, uncover a skeleton, and learn how rocks and minerals formed millions of years ago in this hands-on geologic adventure.

Sunday, December 4 – Live Nativity on the St. Francis Campus, 200 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin.

 

Journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem and rediscover the wonder of Christmas! Drive Thru: 4:15 – 5:15pm, Walk Thru 6:30- 8:00pm. Donation of NEW hats, scarves, gloves and socks will be collected and distributed to those in need throughout the area. Please wear comfortable shoes and warm clothes. The gallery and gift shop has “gifts that enhance the spiritual dimensions of life,” including a wide variety of fairtrade products, books, locally made pottery, and handcrafted wooden gifts. The Christmas Open House will feature special displays by local artisans and gifts from Ten Thousand Villages. Ten Thousand Villages sells fairtrade items made by artisans around the globe, mostly from developing countries and areas with little or limited opportunities for dignified employment. Enjoy mulled cider and festive snacks while shopping to support artisans from Seneca County and around the world! Note: some vendors only accept cash or check.

 

 

St. Francis Spirituality Center’s 2023 “Christmas 365 Raffle” tickets make great Stocking Stuffers! Support the work of healing, reconciliation, and renewal while participating in a fun raffle fundraiser with cash prizes! Purchase a ticket to be entered into the raffle for a chance to win cash prizes valued between $200-$500! A winner’s name will be drawn on the 25th day of each month during 2023 beginning January 25th. There will be two $500 drawings on Dec. 25th. Meet Santa, Mrs. Claus and the animals living at the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center. This event is FREE and open to the public. FREE pictures with Santa also available. All ages welcome to tour the facility. Donations welcome.

Shop local at SpiritSpace Gallery and Gifts, located inside St. Francis Spirituality Center, 200 St. Francis Ave. in Tiffin. Every Thursday (7:00pm-8:30pm) Conversations about Faith offered through St. Francis Spirituality Center, 200 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin.

Conversations about Faith is an informal discussion where matters of faith can be freely discussed and explored. Participants bring their own topics of interest. Although the faith lens will be primarily Roman Catholic, all faith traditions are welcome. Some sessions offered by Zoom only and some “hybrid” – both in person and via Zoom.  Contact the following for information about this week’s manner of meeting.
