Sisters of St. Francis Campus Programs and Events for July 2023

Monday, July 17 (8:00am-Noon) Pop-Up Summer Camp at the Franciscan Earth Literacy “Strong is the New Pretty” Camp for Kids Ages 8-12 Years Old, located 194 St Francis Ave, Tiffin.

This program, “Being Real: Capturing Confidence with Photography” is led by Jen Burns of Rustic Flair. Each participant will learn basic photography skills, receive hands-on picture taking experience throughout the St. Francis Campus and receive their own copy of Strong is the New Pretty book while creating their own version. Children will work in pairs so sign up with a friend or meet a new one. Not required, but helpful if the child can bring digital camera or smart phone.

Fee: $50 per child to be paid in advance or the morning of from 7:30 – 8:00 AM (care takers will sign two release forms).  Register at sshafranek@felctiffin.org or call (419)-448-7485

Space is limited to 20 campers (a minimum of 10 is needed per camp). A light snack will be provided, but bring your own water bottle.

 

Friday, August 11 (5:30-10:00pm) 16th Annual Summer Harvest Gourmet Gala at Elizabeth Schaefer Auditorium, 190 St Francis Ave, Tiffin.

Tickets required to participate – $75 per person. Be entered into an Early Bird Drawing if ticket is purchased before July 1st. Garden Party Theme: Suggested Garden Party attire, but not required. Honorary Co-Chairs: Travis and Ashley Hoffbauer. All proceeds benefit the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center/Seeds of Hope Farm.

Sunday, Aug 13 (12:00-3:00pm) Holy Leisure Sundays on the St. Francis Campus, 200 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin. 

Pack a picnic and blanket and enjoy time with your family and friends in the Sacred Heart Courtyard! Jumbo yard games and $1 Jolly’s root beer floats will be available for your enjoyment. Weather permitting. Sponsored by St. Francis Spirituality Center.

Seeds of Joy Cooking Class will be offered on Saturday, July 22, August 19, August 26 and September 16 from 9:30-10:30am at Ralph’s Joy of Living, 33 North Washington St. in Tiffin.  

Enjoy a cooking class using microgreens and vegetables from the Seeds of Hope Farm on the St. Francis Campus and olive oils from Ralph’s Joy of Living to create marinades, dressings and much more. Different ingredients will be used each time. Classes will be held at Ralph’s Joy of Living and cost $20 per person. Space is limited. Please RSVP by noon on Thursdays at 419-447-1051. 

   

“Season of Creation” Retreat on Friday evening, Sept. 1 – Sunday afternoon, Sept. 3 at St. Francis Spirituality Center, 200 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin.

Kickoff the Season of Creation (Sept. 1- Oct. 4) with an outdoor retreat co-sponsored by St. Francis Spirituality Center and the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center. Using prayer, contemplative movement, song, art, and green building tours, we will explore spirituality of place from dawn to dusk while celebrating God’s gift of creation and committing to action on its behalf. $190 per person includes meals and lodging; $140 Commuter.
