Meeting Notice
Seneca County Genealogical Society’s next meeting will be Tuesday May 5, 2026 at 6:30 pm in the Frost-Kalnow Room of the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library, 77 Jefferson Street, Tiffin, Ohio.
The program will be a presentation by Dr. Bruce Bowlus entitled “The War of 1812: the Final Act of the American Revolution”
In conjunction with the America 250 Seneca County, Ohio celebration of 2026, Dr. Bowlus will share some background on the Harrison Trail & the War of 1812 and why the Seneca County Museum chose it as their America 250 project. He will trace events in the Lower Great Lakes region that connect the Revolution to the War of 1812, which will help us understand why the early phases of that war were fought in our ‘backyard.” Bruce is a retired Tiffin University professor and President of the Seneca County Museum Board. Also discussed, a Historical Driving Tour will launch in April 2026 and be a self-guided tour across five counties including Seneca County.
The meeting is free and open to the public.
