Tiffin-Seneca Community MLK Day Celebration

Tiffin-Seneca Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day, Community Celebration is in-person on January 16, 2023 at 7:00 p.m., at Faith United Methodist Church, 75 N. Sandusky St., Tiffin.  The keynote speaker, Nadia Lewis, is Vice President for Human Resources and the Center for InterculTUral Excellence at Tiffin University, and serves on the President’s Cabinet.  Reverend Aaron Gerlach, Rector of Old Trinity Episcopal Church, is the recipient of this year’s Peacemaker Award.  The program includes remarks by the Mayors of Tiffin and Fostoria, and vocal selections by Heidelberg University student, Zaria Keys.  Heidelberg and Tiffin University students serve as emcees.  Pastor Marilyn Coney invites the community to attend the free event.

Mohawk Community Library’s Case of the Lost Lincoln Diary Program

Solve the Fictional Case of the Lost Lincoln Diary
Mohawk Community Library, Sycamore, needs your help to catch a thief! The Lincoln Diary has gone missing! As the library prepared for the priceless Lincoln Diary to be on display for President’s Day, it disappeared!
Stop by the library to pick up your Detective Packet (available starting Monday, Jan. 30). Adults and kids can work as a team, or sleuth it out individually. New clues will be uncovered every week as you try to solve the mystery of the Lost Lincoln Diary, so be sure to stop by each week to collect your new clues. Bonus clues will be available for detectives who want to put in extra effort. Eliminate the suspects and figure out who would dare steal from our library!
Be sure to submit your findings to MCL by 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25. Detectives who solve this fictional mystery correctly will get a chance to win the Mystery Prize Box. The winner will be drawn after Feb. 27.

Tiffin-Seneca Public Library’s Let’s Talk about It Book Discussion

The Youth Services Department at the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library will show a “Family Interactive Movie” on Monday, January 30 at 6:00 p.m. in the Frost Kalnow Room.

Watch Monsters, Inc. at the Library with some extra excitement. Experience the movie in a whole new way with interactive instructions and props. The Library will provide popcorn and snacks and will raffle off a prize at the end.

Presenter: Sr. Rita Wienken, OSF, an organic farmer for 40 years and founder of FELC and Seeds of Hope Farm. Learn the basics of starting your favorite veggies, herbs, and flowers from seeds. From the right organic soil mixture to watering and lighting, come prepared to get your hands dirty in this hands-on active workshop. Science Days for Kids on Monday, February 20 for kids ages 6-10 years old at the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center, 194 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin. 

Theme: Lost on the High Seas. Life on the open sea is no easy task, are you up for the challenge? Send secret messages with flags, gain “knot-ical” knowledge, avoid common health traps on board, and of course play some sea-worth games.

Tiffin-Seneca Public Library’s Teen Tech Club
